Mushroom Camp
Mushroom Camp
Our 6th annual Mushroom Camp is opening a few spots for mushroom-curious folks! The fungal diversity of our mountains is staggering & we will dive deep into identification, processing and eating wild mushrooms. You will walk away with succinct knowledge of how to identify common edible species and loads of inspiration for continuing your mushroom foraging journey. The focus is on choice culinary mushrooms though medicinal aspects will also be discussed.
There will be a guided wild mushroom walk, a robust identification blanket with lots of resources and a wild mushroom-based dinner. This is the peak of mushroom season and it’s a great way to connect with the woods through a new lens while hanging out with incredible folks.
Saturday August 1st will be the main day of camp from 10am-6pm. You are welcome to bring camping gear and stay the night or just come for Saturday. Camp will conclude early on Sunday. There are very limited spots for this campout to keep our impact to a managable level.
**There will be hiking, potentially wet conditions and 8 hrs of outdoor activities during this class. We will strive to make it as comfortable & accessible as possible but make sure you are physically capable of being a part of this before committing. Thanks!
