Join us for a foraging experience unique to the Appalachian mountains. Our region boasts some of the most astounding mushroom diversity in the world. In this class, we focus on wild edible mushrooms as well as seasonal wild plants & fruits.

Whether you’re a beginner or experienced forager, you’ll gain a ton of knowledge, hands-on experience and culinary inspiration from this class.

Our foraging walks involve short hikes with frequent stops. We cover over a dozen species in depth per class with consideration for how we can better steward the landscapes we harvest from.

The class concludes with a delicious wild food sampler. Get to know the land, mushrooms and meet other foragers! It’s a good time, for real.

About your Host:

Bryan Bramlett is an avid forager and permaculturist who leads events on wild food foraging, land stewardship and ecotherapy. He holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology which he fuses with his passion for Earth-care to facilitate therapeutic nature-connection experiences. He has practiced & studied foraging extensively with many top-tier teachers across the country. His mission is to build healing ecosystems to bring communities into a balanced relationship with the Earth and one another.

FAQs

Refund policy: Refunds are possible if submitted at least 48hours before the event. It is very unlikely we can refund any last minute requests, except in an extreme emergency.

Weather: Class will happen even with rain, unless it’s extreme. I will do my best to keep you informed as soon as possible if changes seem likely. In the event of extreme weather, class will be rescheduled.

Animals & Children policy: Please refrain from bringing animals. It’s a big distraction. Children over 10 are welcome with a separate ticket. If you want to bring children under 10, please message me directly (healingecosystems@gmail.com) to consider this on a case-by-case basis.
